Envit Ltd - environmental technology and engineering. The company, founded in December of 2009, specializes in the remediation of contaminated sites, with a special focus on the removal of contamination from soil. The company’s founders are three internationally recognized experts in the field of soil remediation. In Europe alone, there are currently at least 90,000 sites contaminated with heavy metals that require immediate action. The total estimated remediation costs for these sites amount to 7,500 billion euro. The main obstacle to the remediation of heavily contaminated areas is the lack of applicable technologies, which the founders of Envit Ltd perceive as a business opportunity. Due to its high efficiency in removing heavy metals from contaminated soil and its relatively lower cost, the company’s patented technology outperforms existing remediation solutions.
Envit Ltd won an award honoring the company as the most promising Slovenian start-up in 2010. The expert committee was impressed by the company’s committed approach, its promising market potential and its highly skilled team.
